For over eight years, Garrett served as the Managing Partner and Chief Development Officer of WaveCapital Partners, LLC — a nationally-recognized financial consulting firm that operated in the investment banking industry. At WaveCapital, he represented more than 70 retained clients in 12 U.S. states and select areas abroad. Garrett was the firm’s key business development consultant and strategist, which included helping facilitate capital from $5M to $200M for his clients’ various niche commercial applications. Garrett Boorojian – The Man
Born during the final year of U.S. President Ronald Reagan’s Administration in Hackensack, New Jersey, Garrett grew up in Florida and graduated from the Tampa Preparatory School in 2006. A few months later, he was elected President of the Freshman Class in the Student Government Association at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The following year, Garrett transferred as an incoming second-year student to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated from its Hussman School of Journalism and Media in 2010. Garrett was a student news reporter as a second and third-year student for the Hussman School’s “Carolina Week.” During the summer of 2009, he received his Political Journalism Certificate at Georgetown University’s Institute on Political Journalism via The Fund for American Studies program.
From Capitol Hill to the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance
After Garrett’s days in academia, in 2010, he interned on Capitol Hill for the then-U.S. Congressman Brad Miller (D-NC). Subsequently, Garrett worked on the National Assignment Desk at NBCUniversal / NBC News in Washington (D.C.), in Studio Production at ESPN / ABC — most notably as the Studio Production Assistant on the 2011 “College Football Live” team — in Bristol (Connecticut), and as a Research Assistant at LakePoint Sports in Emerson (Georgia). He also was a freelance high school football (Georgia) and NJCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Basketball (Texas) Region 5 Tournament and Championship play-by-play broadcaster. During the early years of Garrett’s tenure at WaveCapital, he served as Sponsorship Chair and a Director on the SouthPark (Charlotte) Chapter Board at the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce (since renamed the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance) from 2015 to 2017.

In 2021, a year before Garrett concluded his time at WaveCapital Partners, he hosted and produced the first episode of his WaveCapital’s Guest Speaker Series on Relationship Building in a Team Environment podcast. Garrett’s late former ESPN / ABC colleague — 2x National Champion, College Football Hall of Famer, winner of multiple Coach of Year Awards, Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, and 3x The New York Times Best-Selling Author — Lou Holtz was his first guest.

Married during the COVID-19 pandemic, Garrett and his wife Angela have two children Peter and Faith. A loving, faith-filled, and devoted family of Armenian, Italian, and Irish descent, they live in Florida, enjoy singing karaoke, and love exploring new places around the world.
