From Ohio Roots to the National Stage
I grew up in north-central Ohio, the son of a basketball coach and an educator. Competition, perseverance, and accountability weren’t just taught — they were lived. At eight years old, I’d fall asleep listening to “Havlicek Stole the Ball” on my record player, dreaming of what was possible. Those early days — mowing lawns, delivering newspapers, and learning to push through — taught me that nothing great happens without effort. That lesson has stayed with me in every season of life.
From the Hardwood to the Boardroom: Leadership Under Pressure
As a student-athlete at the University of Alabama, I played at the highest level and was later drafted by the Detroit Pistons. But my real calling came on the sidelines — leading, teaching, and developing others. As a head coach, I learned how to lead when the lights are brightest. The job demanded clarity, poise, and the Get It Done mentality every single day.
