Fellow Tar Heel, Kim, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Public Relations & Journalism and received her MBA in International Business at the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School.
Kim served as one of the NBA’s top female executives in the country on behalf of the NBA’s Miami Heat and NBA’s Golden State Warriors. After Garrett’s interview with Kim, she then served as the President of the UBS Arena / Executive Vice President of Oak View Group, East Coast. Currently, Kim is the CEO of the Washington Spirit.
While Kim was at the Heat, the organization appeared in five NBA Finals (2006, 2011–2014) and won three NBA Championships (2006, 2012 and 2013). During the Heat’s sixth NBA Finals’ appearance in 2020, Kim was at the Warriors.
Two months after Kim joined the Warriors in 2019, the Warriors appeared in the 2019 NBA Finals. During the Warriors 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022 NBA Championships, and 2016 NBA Finals’ appearance, Kim was with the Heat including at the time of this interview on November 17, 2021.
